The short answer

Checked 17 October 2026

As of 17 October 2026, Bierens publishes a US contingency scale for undisputed out-of-court claims, from 25% of payments up to $2,999 down to 12.5% above $100,000, with fixed or hourly fees for court action[3][4]. It is a Dutch law firm, established in 1952, that collects with its own in-house attorneys and specialists[2][1]. Debitura's published fee is from 6% in Europe and 7.5% elsewhere, depending on claim size and the debtor's country, with $0 upfront; on a $10,000 claim against a business in Germany the calculator shows 9.5%. Which one fits depends on your debtors, your volume and how you like to work.

BChoose Bierens if

  • Your claim may need court action or legal advice, and you want one law firm to handle it from the first demand letter to court.
  • You are a US business that wants a European collection law firm with an office in New York and an in-house German desk for German debtors.
  • You are an enterprise client that wants API connectivity into a law firm's case system.

DChoose Debitura if

  • You want pre-legal collection first, with legal action quoted separately and only if you accept.
  • Your debtors are in many countries and you want one agreement for all of them.
  • You want self-service sign-up and a case chat with the partner.

An honest answer

When is Bierens the better choice?

Some cases fit Bierens better. If yours is one of them, we would rather you knew now.
