About LIQUIDA Inkasso GmbH – Debt Collection in Germany
LIQUIDA Inkasso GmbH is a debt collection agency based in Heilbronn, in the south of Germany. Founded in 1999 and run as a GmbH since 2015, it collects for clients in Germany and Austria from its head office and a branch in Salzburg. In the video below, CEO Alexander Kraus explains how the firm works.
How LIQUIDA works
LIQUIDA follows a claim through its whole life: pre-legal collection, the court order-for-payment procedure, enforcement, long-term monitoring of enforceable titles and insolvency claims. Separate teams handle pre-legal work, legal work and long-term monitoring, and a special-ticket and international team takes large or complex cases, where the caseworker makes the calls rather than the contact centre. For how the German process works step by step, see Debitura’s Germany debt‑collection guide.
Our Process
LIQUIDA’s process runs in these steps:
- Initial credit checks and pre-litigation collection actions.
- Multi-tiered out-of-court procedures including written reminders and telephonic follow-ups.
- Filing legal applications for enforcement if debts remain unpaid.
- Proactive judicial enforcement and seizure actions.
- Long-term monitoring of enforceable titles to maximize recovery over time.
Independent and technology-driven
LIQUIDA is a privately owned, independent mid-sized company (German Mittelstand). It deliberately takes both B2B and B2C claims from many industries, which keeps the business balanced when one segment slows down. Clients can connect by interface so that new cases start automatically, debtors can pay through a payment link on every letter or request a payment plan in the debtor portal, and long-term plans run by direct debit. The IT environment is run by an external provider certified to high security standards, including disaster recovery.
Meet the Team
LIQUIDA has more than 80 employees. Alexander Kraus is the managing director and the firm’s registered qualified person for legal services; he has worked in debt collection for more than 25 years, after starting in sales of credit insurance, factoring and business information. Tilo Schmidt is COO. The firm was founded by Thomas Kübler-Breig. For court cases LIQUIDA works with a contract law firm.
Registration and memberships
LIQUIDA is registered as a collection service provider with the Federal Office of Justice (Bundesamt für Justiz, file no. 2024 0000 5304) and in the commercial register at the Stuttgart local court (HRB 751382). It is a member of the BDIU, the German debt collection association, and follows its code of conduct. It is also an affiliate member of FENCA and a member of the Legal Tech Verband Deutschland, and its Austrian branch belongs to the Austrian collection association IVÖ.
Services & Industries
Services include pre-legal and legal collection, commercial dunning on the client’s behalf, credit rating information, long-term monitoring of enforceable titles, and insolvency claim lodging and monitoring. Clients come from B2B and B2C sectors including healthcare, logistics and e-commerce, mainly in Germany and Austria, with some international clients.
PRICING MODEL
LIQUIDA Inkasso GmbH's fee structure is intricately aligned with the statutory Rechtsanwaltsvergütungsgesetz (RVG), ensuring transparent and predictable costs. Processing fees are calculated based on the gross claim amount and case complexity, applying a fee unit from 0.5 to 2.5. A flat-rate expense allowance of 20%, capped at €20, covers necessary communications. Additionally, out-of-pocket costs like address research range between €3 and €15. For complex or international cases, success-linked commissions may be negotiated individually. If judicial procedures are required, further RVG fees and a €20 expense allowance apply. All charges are subject to a 19% VAT. Under German law, the debtor typically bears the collection costs, eliminating upfront costs for creditors, with amounts recovered directly from debtor payments.
